CAASPP Testing
Pre/Post Test: students will read and analyze an article. Then answer the questions on the handout. These questions are text dependent and require the students to go back into the text to locate their answers. The text is fairly complex for some of the students (850 lexile) However, it is important they learn to work with complex texts. I really like your well-organized timeline. I was looking at your textual analysis strategies and they all seem pretty legitimate for developing student skills. It made me wonder what approaches you considered using to instruct and scaffold student learning during these activities. I have been using a lot of teacher think aloud to model concepts and skills, opportunities to practice these skills from simple to complex in different contexts, providing students with a lot of cooperative learning time to construct meaning with each other, and graphic organizers, I am sure you used some great strategies and am excited to learn more details about your study.
